rebuffed with answers such as this the community are just not not reassured;

HAYDEN replied:
I thank the
honourable member for some notice of this question. (Which related to the costs and benefits of the Gourmet Escape)
(1) The
reality of working in a highly competitive and commercial environment is that
failure to keep commercially sensitive information out of the public domain
could result in a popular event becoming increasingly vulnerable to the
poaching activities of national and international entities. Accordingly, the
minister will be notifying the Auditor General’s office and both houses of
Parliament that she will not be answering this question, as per section 82 of
the Financial Management Act 2006.
All
such responses bring to mind are similar answers that were given to a gullible
public in the past;
Many
will remember the outcome of that deal.
And
some may also remember the warning that Mr Mensaros gave during the same
session;
Are
we going to continue along the same path until we reach the inevitable
conclusion that we are too late to stop more taxpayers money moving into the
pockets of the same people?
